(SPO) The Euros Predictions

I proud myself in correctly predicting the winner of the last two World Cup's, the last Euro's and the last Copa America, I even predicted correctly how far England would get in each of their last competitions. I believe this is down to my love of international tournaments, I have always maintained that the World Cup is the greatest tournament in any form of sport. I think it's galvanisation of tribal fans to support a common goal is just a spectacular moment is everyones lives even those who do not watch football, it transcends rivalry of club football. Anyway back to the Euros, we come into this summer with a lot of teams with a decent chance of wiining it as many teams who have failed to achivee their expected goals in recent times have bounced back and we still remain to have most of the normal big boys too. Portugal are coming off the back of a poor tournament where they couldn't string a pass together despite man for man being one of the better teams. Maybe it has...

(TOT) - Tottenham's Tomorrow

The future of Tottenham Hotspur is looking bright, as I've always been banging on about for several years now and several managers. So in this entry I discuss my favourite talents and how to make sure we actually give them a chance. With success in the last two seasoms for our under 18's and under 21's, including a Premier League 2 title win, I think this proves my point enough however given our quality in depth is also important I think this should be highlighted as it isn't just a few talents, there are many. Maybe in ten years time I will look back on this and go 'how right I was' or 'how wrong was I!' First is to identify the best talents: Luca Gunter (GK)  - This young goalkeeper is a sensational shotstopper, penalty saver and isn't bad with his feet either. Despite still being young, he has shown a lot of promise this season and has ended being our under 21s most improved player. Josh Keeley (GK) - Another young goalkeeper - but the older of th...

(POL) - My Manifesto

Having received some constructive criticism around the negative nature of my writing I have decided to be more forward thinking and answer the question, what would I do if I was Prime Minister? Down below will be by manifesto policies of how I would change this country for the better. My aims are to make normal life feel a little easier and for young people to be better off then my generation as for the first in a long time, the next generation will be worse off than their parents. EDUCATION: - I would eradicate private schooling for the elite and wealthy students as to encourage those fees to be donated to state schools for the overall benefit of not just a small section of students but the whole system. I firmly believe this would benefit the wealthier students as engaging with people from different backgrounds enriches our personalities and culture. - Due to the previous policy we will need more teachers and schools and therefore I would aim to build more schools and hire a lot more...

The ITV Election Debate

Last night I tuned into watch Sunak versus Starmer on the live stage and here are my takeaways from the event. This was the first time the country had seen the two protagonists of the election go at eachother properly so you would've expected hard hitting policies and a few knockdowns. Well, unfortunately, there were only really the latter as both candidiates missed on getting key policies across. Personally, I think this is the fault of the format as it really does constrict the debate into the mediocre as 45 seconds isn't really enough time to talk about important details. One thing for sure is that it was repetitive, the key messages were getting across as predicted. The usual sayings on the bingo card were called like Sunak saying that Labour raise taxes and that 'they have no plan' compared to Starmer's 'look at the last 14 years' and 'My wife works for the NHS' or the always typical 'My father was a toolmaker'. The repeat until they get...

(TOT) - The Six Signings To Change Tottenham

I have always been a massive advocate for my club's transfer policy. Sign young players and develop them into stars, and we have done that very well over the years whether it be Gareth Bale, Luka Modric or Dele Alli, in fact there hasn't been a moment in my lifetime where we have signed a finished product. You would have to go back to Jurgen Klismann in 94' or 97' to find us signing a world class player.  However there are several issues with this now, most notably price. It used to be cheaper to sign younger players but now it has been flipped on its head and you still have to pay way over the odds. For example Chelsea's recent spending, Caicedo for 115 million, Enzo for just under that and so on. The market has changed as these players never used to cost as much. The other issue with this policy is that our squad is relatively young and we don't need extra youth, we need some older players to compliment the inexperience. I have drawn a list up of six names tha...

(GEN) - Pride Month

It is June and that means it is that time of year where multi-billion pound corporations change their social media logos and general in-store marketing to pride flags to appeal to more customers even though they trade and take money from homophobic nation states like it's going out of fashion. It may just be one of the biggest marketing events on the calendar. Personally, I am against Pride month because it represents that the community isn't the norm when in reality society should be reflecting progress and not highlighting issues or differences. I do appreciate that for a lot of people it can be time of celebration and community for those in need of that network of support. As a gay man myself, I understand and sympathise with how lonely, difficult and alienating life can be growing up in a world where you are different. My issue with Pride is not the sentiment or the principles, it the execution of it. I believe times change and we should adapt so to not cause unrest. By thr...

(SPO) - Champions League Final Review

It was that time of year again. The 'Yellow Wall' versus the 'Galacticos', the underdogs versus the serial winners. Wembley was the venue, a modern classic in this competition having previously held some of the great finals like Barcelona versus Manchester United back in 2011, which guarenteed the Catalan team of that era into the footballing hall of fame. If anyone is looking for a fairytale, the last time Wembley hosted the final of this competition was also the last time Borussia Dortmund were seen in an European final. Speaking of fairytales, this was also a final of goodbyes for many players as it was Marco Reus' last Dortmund game, Joselu and Nacho unsure on their future and Toni Kroos' last ever game in club football. So many classic stories could be written there. After the group stage, the last in its current format, Dortmund had shocked PSG, out-battled Atleti and eased past PSV Eindhoven to get to the final whereas Real Madrid had somehow beaten both ...
